梁家傑獻唱 籲聽人民聲音

【明報專訊】和平佔中金融組噚日喺中環交貿廣場平台、港交所樓下唱出Do you hear the people sing，佢哋仲喺《紐約時報》同《華爾街日報》國際版，以「一群關注香港利益及愛中國的金融銀行界專業人士」名義刊登廣告，向國家主席習近平發公開信，促請中央信守《基本法》中「一國兩制」承諾，落實真普選，又警告中央唔好喺香港重演天安門鎮壓場面，「全世界也在看着」。金融組發起人錢志健（前右）預計金融組會有20至30人參與佔中，而佢哋亦會以不同方法向國際社會反映香港爭普選情况。佔中金融組前晚舉行參加須知晚會，邀請大律師講解。公民黨黨魁梁家傑（左）噚日亦有參加獻唱活動。

Do You Hear The People Sing?耳熟能詳，是Les Miserables歌劇的第18首歌，歌詞是這樣的：

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes! 

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?

雨果(Victor Hugo)這1500頁巨著，我啃不下，拿起手翻了幾頁已吃不消，我想只有英文很好的名校女生才能啃它。我只是看10年及25年版的舞臺劇DVD，2012年那齣電影，以唱功而言，男主角的歌喉不知所謂。這首歌背景是法國1830年的6月，試圖推翻皇權的起義，最終失敗了。革命領袖分別是法學生Enjoltras及醫學生Combeferre，他們也是這首歌的主音。學生參與革命，古已有之，犧牲也等閒事。

唱這首激昂的歌，套用於任何人民挑戰政權都可以用得上，敢有歌吟，振奮人心。佔中下場，是否像這首歌學生領袖最後失敗告終呢？不是我有能力作預測的，我也不作類比，因為學生領袖革命不成，魂斷槍口。歌詞第三行用"a people"所指的是這一國一族的人，所以用了單數"a", 也配合上一行用"angry"一字的音節。古舊一點的英文，people可以用作單數來用。
